MANDOPOP superstar Jay Chou held a Christian wedding ceremony at Selby Abbey, Selby, Yorkshire, the United Kingdom, on Saturday. He and Australian-Taiwanese model Hannah Quinlivan exchanged rings and vows in front of a pastor, witnessed by some 50 family members and friends.

    The 36-year-old Taiwanese singer also released a series of wedding photos the same day. The photos were shot in October last year at the New Swan Stone Castle in Germany as well as in Prague and Paris, according to JVR Music, Chou’s album brand.

    Fans had anticipated Chou would make it official yesterday, which was the singer’s 36th birthday, since he promised he would get married before turning 36. The singer started dating 21-year-old Quinlivan four years ago. JVR said the couple already registered for marriage last year. Chou, estimated to be worth about NT$5 billion (US$169 million), previously said that he would not ask Quinlivan to sign a prenuptial agreement to protect his assets.

    Chou dated TV hostess Patty Hou from 2005 to 2006 and has been “romantically involved with other singers and actresses,” according to media reports. However, Chou never went public with his “other ex-girlfriends,” including Taiwanese pop diva Jolin Tsai.(Li Dan)
