    “公主” means “princess,” and “病” here refers to a “syndrome.” Literally translated as “the princess syndrome,” this term is used on young girls who are narcissistic and think extremely high of themselves, as if they were princesses. Often unmarried and taken good care of by their families since childhood, “princess syndrome” patients tend to be willful and lack the courage to be responsible. They blame others or bad luck for their mistakes and setbacks. Correspondingly, young men with similar traits suffer “prince syndrome.”
