Action star Jackie Chan conferred title Datuk
     2015-February-3  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ACTION superstar Jackie Chan was conferred the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah, which carries the title Datuk, at a ceremony on Sunday, reported Malaysian media.

Chan was addressed by the name Chan Songkang during the ceremony, which was held in conjunction with Malaysia’s Federal Territory Day. His real name is Chan Kongsang.

Many attendees were surprised when the superstar turned up in a suit and black songkok (a traditional cap) to receive his Datukship at the event.

Chan is best known for his action films like “Rush Hour” and “Police Story.” He is set to visit Singapore from Feb. 9 to 11 to promote his new film “Dragon Blade” with his co-stars John Cusack, Adrien Brody, Choi Siwon, Lin Peng and Wang Ruoxin.(SD-Agencies)
