MISSION Hills Hainan will host some of the world’s best golfers in the third edition of the World Ladies Championship from March 12 to 15.
Hosted by China Golf Association and jointly certified by China LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour (LET), the tournament will be undertaken by Mission Hills Group with a total prize money of US$600,000.
This year’s World Ladies Championship marks the kickoff tournament for the 2015 China LPGA Tour, opening a new season of China’s ladies professional golf tournaments.
Since its inception in 2012, three seasons of the World Ladies Championship have been successfully held. The tournament is set to kick off at the famous Blackstone Course in Haikou, South China’s Hainan Province.
This year’s event is going to bring together the strongest lineup ever in world ladies golf. The Team Competition will be an exciting battle among eight national teams from the top 20 teams in the Rolex Ladies World Rankings, the top 10 national teams of Ladies European Tour Prize Money list, as well as 2 teams from the host country. Eligibility for individual professional competition is determined by ranks based on world ladies professional rankings.
World No. 1 Inbee Park, No. 5 Suzann Pettersen and No. 8 Ryu So-yeon as well as more than 100 famous golfers have confirmed to once again battle it out in the tournament. Lin Xiyu, a young golfer from Guangzhou, will also participate in the tournament. She topped the China LPGA Tour finale held at Mission Hills Shenzhen in December last year, and became the youngest ever CLPAG Order of Merit winner in the history of China Ladies Open.
This year’s most fascinating point and highlight will be the fierce battle between the world’s No.1 golfer Inbee Park and Norwegian golf star Suzann Petterson. The super duo have intensely battled against each other in several big events.
