THERE will be more than 1,200 various cultural and sports activities in Shenzhen during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, which starts Wednesday, according to the municipal culture, sports and tourism bureau.
Young sculptors, including Cao Wen and Chen Weicai, will have 86 works exhibited at Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Futian District.
Works by 17 female artists who either were born or live in eight foreign countries, such as the United States and Germany, will be displayed at He Xiangning Art Museum in Nanshan District during the festival.
In addition, Shenzhen Museum will play host to exhibitions of ancient Chinese artwork.
Local residents will also be granted free access to two concerts by the philharmonic orchestra at Shenzhen Grand Theater. Residents can go to the ticket center of the theater with their ID cards to claim tickets.
For those who want to stretch their body during the festival, several local sports facilities will be open for free.
Shenzhen Sports Center on Sungang Road West in Futian District will open its facilities for free during the first three days of the festival, including its swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts.
In addition, other sports facilities including Futian Sports Park and Huangmugang Tennis Center have been open for free since Feb. 3 and will remain so until Feb. 24.
Local resorts including Happy Valley, OCT East and Shenzhen Safari Park will also treat visitors to a variety of activities during the festival.
