Wong Cho-lam married
TVB actor Wong Cho-lam tied the knot with girlfriend Leanne Li on Saturday, which was Valentine’s Day. The couple held their ceremony at Kowloon City Baptist Church, witnessed by friends and family members.
“Leanne, you are the angel sent to me. My life is complete thanks to your love. ... I will be devoted to you from now on, just as I am devoted to Him,” Wong said in tears. They also held wedding banquets yesterday at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Li, a TVB actress born in 1984, is four years younger but 10 cm taller than her groom.
Jaycee Chan released
JAYCEE CHAN, son of movie star Jackie Chan, began the process of rehabilitating his image Saturday as he appeared in public for the first time following a six-month jail sentence on drug charges and apologized for his actions.
Speaking softly and wearing a dark-colored suit and collarless shirt, the 32-year-old entertainer told reporters in Beijing he would dedicate his energy toward film and music projects and spend more time with his distraught mother.
WGA Awards
Wes Anderson’s Oscar-nominated eccentric caper “The Grand Budapest Hotel” won the top film prize at Writers Guild of America Awards on Saturday. “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” up for nine Oscars including best picture, beat frontrunner, Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood,” for best original screenplay.
Graham Moore from “The Imitation Game,” about British World War Two Nazi code breaker Alan Turing, won best adapted screenplay and dedicated his award to the late Turing, who died in 1954 a broken man, persecuted for his homosexuality.
