Singer sentenced to 7 months in prison for drug possession
     2015-March-3  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FAMED Chinese singer Yin Xiangjie was sentenced to seven months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan (US$319.8) for illegal drug possession.

The sentence came after the first trial of the case was held in a local court in Beijing’s Chaoyang District on Saturday.

The equipment he used when taking drugs was confiscated.

Yin, 46, was charged with possessing more than 10 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Yin was detained over drug use and illegal possession at his home in east Beijing late last December.

Earlier this month, the People’s Procuratorate of Chaoyang District prosecuted Yin on charges of illegal drug possession.(SD-Agencies)
