Meaning:

    “获得” means to “gain” or “acquire,” and “感” means “feeling.” This term, mentioned by Chinese President Xi Jinping at a CPC meeting Feb. 27, is a near equivalent to “satisfaction.” Xi brought up this concept while talking about reforms, saying that officials of all levels should push forward with reforms so that the general public can benefit from the reforms and feel satisfied.

    A: 对你而言，怎样才能有更多获得感？

    Duì nǐ éryán, zěnyàng cáinéng yǒu gèngduō huòdégǎn?

    What can bring you more satisfaction?

    B: 收入提高，环境改善，食品安全，总之，生活改善会带来更多获得感。

    Shōurù tígāo, huánjìng gǎishàn, shípǐn ānquán, zǒngzhī, shēnghuó gǎishàn huì dàilái gèngduō huòdégǎn。

    An increased income, better environment, safer food, in a word, improvement in all aspects of life can give me more satisfaction.

    A: 除了物质生活还有什么？

    Chúle wùzhì shēnghuó háiyǒu shénme?

    What else besides material things?

    B: 还有就是如果大家依法办事，社会和谐，我会感到更安全，也会提升获得感。

    Háiyǒu jìushì rúguǒ dàjiā yīfǎ bànshì, shèhuì héxié, wǒ huì gǎndào gèng ānquán, yě huì tíshēng huòdégǎn。

    If people are friendly and everyone respects the law, I will feel safer, which brings more satisfaction.
