In good hands
     2015-March-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    In good hands字面解释就是“在一双好手中”。这是什么意思呢?请看对话:

A: Let’s go and check out a movie this Saturday.

    B: What about the baby?

A: Don’t worry. I’ve called in Sally, an experienced baby-sitter. The baby will be in good hands.

B: Okay, let’s go to the movies then.

Note: The term “good hand” has been used in the sense of “skill” or “ability” since the late 14th century. This idiom means “managed or cared for with great attention,” “in competent or safe care.” For example, a car service center may say to its customer: “Your car is in good hands. Our mechanics are factory-trained.”
