THE renowned Taiwanese singer, actress, director and writer Annie Shizuka Inou (a.k.a. Annie Yi Nengjing), 46, tied the knot with Qin Hao, who is 10 years her junior, on Phuket Island, Thailand on Saturday, drawing attention from many media outlets on the Chinese mainland and in Taiwan.
Inou shared her happiness of saying “yes” to Qin’s proposal last July in Turkey via Weibo. Qin retweeted Inou’s post, asking Inou if she was willing to spend the rest of her life with him. The couple’s wedding ceremony was attended by only their families and close friends.
Inou is a popular Taiwanese star and was a best actress Golden Horse nominee in 1995 for starring in “Good Men, Good Women.” She is also written several popular books and released some well-received music albums throughout her career.
Inou married Harlem Yu, also a well-known Taiwanese singer, in 2000 after a 14-year relationship and gave birth to their only son in 2002. Inou and Yu divorced in 2009.
Inou’s new movie “The Queens,” which describes how four women pull themselves together after failed relationships, will be on screens in April. The movie is also Inou’s first attempt at directing.
