Meaning:

    “一带” means “one belt,” and “一路” means “one road.” The concept, raised by Chinese President Xi Jinping, is the shortened form for the term “the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.” In short, people will say “One Belt and One Road.” Xi raised the concept to call for closer cooperations between China and its neighbors, in the hope that connectivity will help boost the growth of less developed regions in Asia.
