Han Hong wins ‘I Am a Singer’

CHINESE singer Han Hong won the finals of the third season of “I Am a Singer” in Changsha, Hunan Province on Friday night. She is the first woman to claim the title so far. Sun Nan, a friend of Han, backed out of the finals, wishing the others good luck. “I Am a Singer” is a Chinese version of the Korean reality show by the same name.

Previous winners were soft rock duo Yu Quan and Chinese folk and pop singer-songwriter Han Lei.

Tony winner joining ‘Beauty and the Beast’

TONY Award-winning actress Audra McDonald, who also starred in television’s “Private Practice,” is in final negotiations to join the cast of Disney’s live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast.”

McDonald will join a roll call that includes Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince, Luke Evans as the vain villain Gaston, and Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gaston’s buffoonish and loyal sidekick. The live-action film is aligning itself closely with the 1991 animated classic.

    Zayn Malik breaks silence

ZAYN MALIK has spoken out for the first time since quitting boy band sensation One Direction, and the 22-year-old hunk says he’s finally “doing what’s right.” Wednesday, he announced he was quitting the band mid-tour, leaving the group to continue as a foursome.

The teen heartthrob admits he has plans to record as a solo artist in the future, and reveals he’s been working on his own music for some time now.
