SINGER-SONGWRITER Joni Mitchell is in intensive care after being found unconscious in her Los Angeles home. She was rushed to hospital Tuesday afternoon.
A statement released on her website said she “regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an L.A. area hospital.”
It went on to add that the eight-time Grammy winner is “currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits.”
In December she told Billboard magazine that she has a rare skin condition, Morgellons Disease, which prevents her from performing.
Her website urged fans to keep her in their thoughts. “Light a candle and sing a song, let’s all send good wishes her way.”
Best known for her 1970 hit “Big Yellow Taxi,” Mitchell was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.(SD-Agencies)
