Boy with autism draws world map from memory
     2015-April-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN 11-year-old New York youngster is going viral on Reddit after he was snapped drawing an incredibly intricate world map on a whiteboard — complete with correct borders — from memory.

The boy, a teacher’s son, got in front of the class and drew the world map shared by Reddit user Bobitis, whose daughter is in the class, on the room’s white board.

In the images, the youth is seen kneeling on a chair in order to reach the whiteboard, with his pen held to the extremely detailed map.

Not only is the map accurate, with some major countries labeled, but the high level of detail extends to the inclusion of political borders and even tiny coastal islands.

Bobitis said the young artist has autism.

“I was just amazed... especially as a father of a child with similar attributes,” Bobitis wrote.

Autism is a complex disability, and while some individuals can have specific difficulties with memory, others can also have exceptional memory and visual skills.(SD-Agencies)
