Makeup artist transforms real-life people into comic book characters
     2015-April-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DO you dream of having superpowers? One makeup artist has developed a superpower of her own, thanks to a lot of creativity and a bit of face paint.

Professional makeup artist Lianne Moseley, 25, from Calgary, Canada, turns regular people into real-life superheroes by covering them in an array of vivid colors in order to make them look just like illustrations from comic book strips.

The self-taught artist has transformed people into characters including Superman, Wonder Woman, Sterling Archer, and She-Hulk.

Moseley uses a water-based makeup called Aquacolor to mimic the characters, a metamorphosis that can take anywhere between one to seven hours to complete. Done entirely by hand, her designs range from face-only to full-body creations.

“There isn’t really a crazy process to what I do, but there seems to be a crazy reaction to them,” Moseley said. “I choose a character and then I look up a bunch of pictures of them, whether it be fan art or from the actual comics.”

Moseley, who has been working as a professional makeup artist for seven years, was inspired to paint faces in a comic book style after viewing the work of Argenis Pinal, an Argentinian makeup artist, on Instagram.

She attempted the process on a friend just last year, and after posting an image of her work on social media, Moseley received an overwhelming response, prompting her to invest more time and energy into the hobby. (SD-Agencies)
