11 cars send message to astronaut
     2015-April-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AUTOMAKER Hyundai released a video showing how 11 sedans helped a 13-year-old Houston girl etch a message to her astronaut father.

The video, which opens by asking “Can a car deliver a message to space?” features 13-year-old Stephanie teaming up with Hyundai to use the fleet of Genesis sedans to etch the message, “Steph [heart]’s you!” in Nevada’s Delamar Dry Lake.

The message in the 2.14-square-mile (5.54-square-kilometer) lake was visible to Stephanie’s father, who snapped a photograph of the message from the International Space Station.

Guinness World Records confirmed Stephanie’s message constituted the largest tire-track image ever created, measuring 59,808,480.26 square feet (5.55 square km).

The video did not identify the teen’s father, but Terry Virts, current commander of Expedition 43, has a teenage daughter named Stephanie.(SD-Agencies)
