THE Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP), a State-level event for international talent, will be held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on Saturday and Sunday.
The 13th CIEP is expected to attract foreign expert organizations, research institutions, higher-education institutions, and human resource agencies from over 80 countries and regions, over 50 overseas Chinese student associations, over 1,000 high-level overseas professionals and more than 5,000 start-up projects.
A job fair will also be held for foreigners.
This year’s CIEP will cover 15 categories ranging from exhibitions, recruitment, project matching, summits, to research training. Occupying 70,000 square meters of space, it will be the largest event in the history of CIEP, with more activities than previous CIEP events.
This year’s CIEP will be more international, better market-oriented and more specialized, and cover a full chain of human resource services, according to organizers.
For the first time in the history of CIEP, the International Technology Transfer Conference Shenzhen Summit will be held. More than 100 innovative projects will be shown at the event.
The 2nd Emerging Industry Meeting will address hot topics including smart city design, the green economy, environmental protection, marine and agricultural industries, new materials and new energy.
Participants of the CIEP will also have a chance to see the latest 3-D printing technologies at the conference, with more than 80 leading enterprises and research organizations in the area participating in a 3-D printing summit.
The Shenzhen Forum, to be held at No. 5 Hall of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, will attract more than 2,000 officials, entrepreneurs, and scholars. “Maker, Innovation, Start-up and Urban development” will be the theme of the forum.
More than 50 renowned entrepreneurs, heads of business schools and investors will participate in a Global CEO Innovation Summit.

The CIEP will set aside a special area for overseas Chinese students, where more than 600 overseas students from more than 27 countries will be looking for potential partners for their projects. It will also have an international education exhibition and an international vocational education exhibition.
Established in 2001, the CIEP is a State-level, international and comprehensive talents exchange conference. It was moved to Shenzhen in 2007 and is now co-sponsored by the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs and the Shenzhen municipal government.
