Veteran Italian pianist Gilda Butta will give a recital June 19 at Nanshan Cultural and Sports Center.

    After studying piano at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, she won the Franz Liszt Prize in 1976 and started a concert pianist career. She has recorded 400 film soundtracks, most notably ones written by Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone.

    At the Shenzhen concert, Butta will perform scores from “The Legend of 1900,” “Shine,” “Cinema Paradiso,” “Love Affair” and “The Pianist.”
