A TRAILER for “Fast and Furious 7” titled “Family” won the Best of Show prize for Universal Pictures and AV Squad at the 16th annual Golden Trailer Awards, which were held Wednesday at the Saban Theater in Los Angeles. It also claimed the top honors in the best action category.
Awards were announced in 78 different categories, with 20 of them handed out at the ceremony, hosted by T.J. Miller, who stars in HBO’s “Silicon Valley.”
Universal Pictures was the big winner of the night, taking home 15 awards overall. Warner Bros. (with its sister company HBO) won a total of 11 statues, while Disney and Lionsgate collected nine wins each. Fox won six of the golden statues.
Top trailer and creative vendors included Ignition Creative, whose work was honored in 14 different categories. mOcean, Trailer Park and AV Squad scored six trophies each. Buddha Jones won four GTAs.
“American Sniper” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” tied for the films with the most Golden Trailer Awards, with each taking home wins in five separate categories.
The Golden Trailer Awards were launched in 1999 to recognize standouts in worldwide motion picture and television marketing.(SD-Agencies)
