THE 11th annual China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) will kick off tomorrow bringing cultural and creative exhibitions to subvenues around Shenzhen.

    The Xidesheng subvenue in Guangming New Area will host a series of leisure-themed events at the Xidesheng International Leisure Cultural and Creative Industrial Park.

    The 500,000-square-meter park takes it namesake from the Xidesheng bicycle company. It has served as an ICIF subvenue for the past three years.

    The Xidesheng bicycle company has hosted cycling events in regions across China including Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai and Fujian. The company hopes to expand to other parts of Asia.

    With the theme “Low-carbon life and creative leisure,” the park has set up four main zones, including a tourism zone, a UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) cycling experience zone, a bicycle park and an international leisure culture museum.

    For this year’s ICIF, major activities include a forum on intelligent bicycles, a charity ride event, a special effects performance and a product design competition photograph competition.

    There will also be a 3-D hologram showing the process of making a bicycle out of carbon fiber.(Zhang Qian)
