过去三年中国官员患抑郁症的病例明显增加，请看本报昨日引述《北京青年报》的报道：

    There has been an apparent increase in the number of officials who visited doctors for depression over the past three years, and many of them are reluctant to see a doctor out of fear of ruining their political career. Some pay visits to the doctor on private record instead of using medical insurance in order to keep their illnesses private, Beijing Youth Daily reported Tuesday.

    报道中的depression就是“抑郁症”，depressed就是“抑郁的”。此外，depression还有“经济萧条”的意思。例如：

    Considering that you helped me get out of my depression, I’ll marry you anyway.

    念及你帮我摆脱了抑郁，我还是嫁给你吧。
