New album, tour
JANET JACKSON delivered a surprise for fans on her birthday Saturday, announcing a new album and world tour.
The singer tweeted a link to a video in which, in her unmistakable voice, she coos, “I promised you’d hear it from my lips and now you will. This year: new music; new world tour; a new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.”
‘Lost in India’
CHINESE director Xu Zheng is to direct “Lost in India” after the success of his serial comedy film “Lost in Thailand” and “Lost in Hong Kong.” Chinese author Liu Zhenyun will write the script for the movie, adapting his own novel “One Sentence Worth Ten Thousand.” The “Lost” series is Xu’s directorial debut. With a budget of 30 million yuan (US$4.8m), “Lost in Thailand” is the most bankable Chinese film of all time. The new project “Lost in India” will be filmed this November.
Li Na biopic
HONG KONG filmmaker Peter Chan is to direct and produce “Li Na: My Life,” a biopic of the tennis star. Chan is auditioning both actresses and sportswomen for the role. The film will be shot in English and Chinese.
Li retired at the end of last year after winning the 2011 French Open and 2014 Australian Open. She later released an autobiography from which the screenplay will be based on.
