AN American high school junior wanted to knock his senior girlfriend dead with a killer “promposal” so he decided he would put up police tape around her driveway and pose as a crime scene cadaver.

    Elijah Williams and Marie Kasten, both 16, have dated for two years and attend Manchester Valley High School, in Maryland, but had never gone to prom together.

    Kasten, the daughter of the former chief deputy of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, is moving away in about a month because her dad Phil got a job as a police chief in Vermont.

    Williams wanted to ask Kasten to prom in a special way due to her family’s impending departure and his sister Alexes, 20, came up with a police-themed plan, the Carroll County Times reported.

    In order to pull off the staged scene, brother and sister enlisted the help of their mother and Kasten’s mom to get their target out of the house so they would have time for the caper.

    While the mothers took Kasten grocery shopping before Easter, Williams and his big sister put up the police tape and drew a while chalk outline of his body.

    When she pulled up the house and saw her boyfriend lying in the driveway next to a rainbow-colored message reading, “I’m dying to go to prom with you,” Williams was powerless to say no.

    They attended the prom Saturday night at the Wyndham hotel in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

    Williams said, “I was really surprised. It meant a lot to me because my father is a police officer.”(SD-Agencies)
