WITH markings forming a distinctive black moustache and side-parted hairline, this cat bears a remarkable similarity to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

    But the comparison doesn’t end there — owner Elena Suleymanyan also likens her pet’s temper and tantrums to that of the World War II dictator.

    Suleymanyan, 44, noticed the 1-year-old hairless donskoy cat looked like Hitler as soon as he was born due to his distinctive markings and intense gaze. Suleymanyan, a pharmacist from Moscow, said, “Anyone who meets Portos is immediately taken aback by his likeness to Adolf Hitler.

    “When he was growing up, people would always ask me if his name is Adolf and whether he wanted to conquer the world, so the comparison just stuck after a while.

    “Admittedly, Portos can be a real dictator at times, he can be very naughty and demanding, especially around feeding time.

    “I often have to feed him from my hands or from a plate as he can be a bit of a snob and refuses to eat his food from a cat bowl.

    “I can’t say I know much about Hitler’s character, but Portos definitely thinks very highly of himself.

    “When his behavior is bad I always say that it’s just the Hitler in him, although I’m very tolerant of him.”

    Suleymanyan, who lives and works in both Moscow and Prague, takes Portos, who is regularly recognized on their journeys for his likeness to Hitler, on her travels with her.

    But despite his similarities to Hitler, she said Portos can be a tender and loving cat — when he wants to be.

    She said, “I can’t say his similarity to Hitler affects his life in any way, though it definitely adds some humor to ours.

    “We all love him and actually do not care about any similarity — he is just our family member.

    “Last time when I flew to Prague with Portos, other passengers noticed he looked like Hitler at once. With the moustache and the hair, we get it all the time because he looks the spitting image.” (SD-Agencies)
