Wang Xiaoshuai ties the knot with producer
     2015-May-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINESE director Wang Xiaoshuai held a grand lawn wedding ceremony at a park in Beijing on Friday.

His producer bride Liu Xuan, in a white wedding gown, was ushered in by her mother. With no emcee or chief witness, Wang said he hoped everyone at his wedding would serve as a witness to his happy moment.

“I thank Liu Xuan’s mom, who has brought her, a fairy kind of girl, to me. I feel rejuvenated and have returned to the age of 25,” Wang said in front of nearly 300 family members and friends.

Getting down on one knee, Wang asked Liu, “Dear Liu Xuan, will you marry me? Lucky or unlucky, rich or poor, we value each other more than our own lives and take good care of our parents. ... We will be there for each other no matter what.”

While fireworks were lit, the bride said yes and kissed the groom.

Back in April, at the premiere of his film “Red Amnesia,” Wang announced that his wedding would be in May and that he was marrying a producer of the film.

Liu, a financier who graduated from the Central University of Finance and Economics in 1997, had worked with ICBC and DBS in Beijing before turning to show biz. She was a producer for Xu Jinglei’s “Dreams May Come” (2006).(Debra Li)
