    Shone An dies

    TAIWANESE talk show host Shone An died of liver cancer early yesterday morning. He was 32.

    A former member of boy band Comic Boyz, An left the show biz industry around 2007 but made a comeback as a talk show host two years later. Comic Boyz, created during the boy band craze in 2001, was not successful compared to F4. They disbanded in 2005 with their last album “Goodbye Comic Boyz.” Fellow member Arroy Shen died in 2012 due to complications that accompanied a brain injury.

    ‘Big Bang Theory’

    THE cast and creators of comedy TV show “The Big Bang Theory” have created a US$4 million scholarship fund to support low-income science students.

    The fund will sponsor studies in science technology, engineering and math at UCLA in the United States where Mayim Bialik, who stars in the series, earned a PhD. in neuroscience in 2007. The first 20 scholars will be announced on the set of the TV show this autumn. Figures in science and technology including Stephen Hawking, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak have all made cameos on the show.

    100-day bliss

    HONG KONG actor Wong Cho-lam and his wife actress Leanne Li held two glasses of juice to celebrate their 100 day of marriage Friday at Shenzhen’s Honeymoon Tearoom in Nanshan District.

    Wong became well-known after he joined the Chinese version of “Running Man,” produced by Zhejiang Satellite TV. Li, a TVB actress born in 1984, is four years younger but 10 cm taller than her husband. The couple started dating in 2009.
