Rewards for information on terrorism
     2015-June-4  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN will offer a reward of up to 500,000 yuan (US$80,645) to people who report and provide verifiable information about terrorist activities and violent crimes, according to a notice recently issued by the public security bureau.

Tips include information on organizing, planning, implementing and inciting terrorist activities by domestic or overseas individuals and organizations.

According to the notice, the size of the reward will depend on the practical effect of the clue. Moreover, the city puts no cap on the amount of the reward if the clue turns out to be extraordinarily valuable.

A Shenzhen citizen recently found suspicious objects in a car on a road and then reported it to the police via WeChat. After an investigation, Shenzhen police gave the citizen a generous reward based on the report.

The privacy and safety of tipsters will be protected, police said.
