    The program will be Chopin’s “Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat Minor, Op. 35,” “Piano Sonata No. 3 in B Minor, Op. 58,” Scriabin’s “Prelude for the Left Hand Alone, Op. 9, No. 1,” “Prelude Op. 11, No. 8 in F-sharp Minor,” “Fantasie in B Minor, Op. 28,” “Prelude Op. 37, No. 1 in B-flat Minor,” “Black Mass Sonata” and Balakirev’s “Islarney.”

    In March 2007, Wang’s breakthrough came when she replaced Martha Argerich in concerts held in Boston. Wang performed Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No. 1” with Charles Dutoit conducting.

    Les Petits Chanteurs

    de Saint-Marc

    French children’s choir Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc (in English, The Little Singers of Saint Marc) will give a show.

    Founded in September 1986 by Nicolas Porte, the choir is a mixed unit composed of 75 to 80 children from 10 to 15 years old. All are provided education by Saint-Marc College in Lyon.

    Les Petits Chanteurs acquired recognition with the release of the 2004 film “Les Choristes,” for which they provided the vocals for the soundtrack. One of the soloists, Jean-Baptiste Maunier, was chosen to play a lead role in the film.

    In addition to performances where they sing music from the film, the choir also performs Mozart’s opera-comedy, “Bastien and Bastienne.”

    In 1995, the choir was named the official choir of the Basilica Notre-Dame de Fourviere.

    Gustavo Romero

    American pianist Gustavo Romero will give a free concert in the afternoon June 7 at the Shenzhen Concert Hall. Tickets can be obtained at www.szyyt.com.

    Romero’s playing has a stellar reputation for both its technical brilliance and interpretive depth. He is known for his commitment to in-depth exploration of individual composers.
