Stefani to replace Aguilera on ‘The Voice’
     2015-June-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

GWEN STEFANI is returning to “The Voice” for Season 9!

The No Doubt frontwoman, who first filled in for Christina Aguilera during the show’s seventh season, is “so excited” to return to the big red chair.

“I can’t believe I get to return to ‘The Voice,’” Stefani said in a statement released Wednesday. “It’s so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I’m looking forward to working again with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams. I love those guys.”

Stefani joins returning coaches Levine and Shelton, who have been on the show since its 2011 debut, and Williams (this will mark the “Happy” singer’s third season as a coach).

Carson Daly will continue to host the reality singing competition. “The Voice” Season 9 will premiere in September on NBC.

Although a rotating panel was intimidating at first, swapping in Shakira for Aguliera among other changes, Daly said things are better now that the audience knows to expect different faces. And don’t think Aguilera’s departure means she’s leaving the show for good.

“Christina is confirmed for Season 10 and has already signed her contract. She has been very vocal about not doing Season 9 to take a break to spend time with her family and her kids,” said Daly. “She always planned to flip them so she had a season off and she is not being replaced by Gwen. She will definitely be back the next season.”(SD-Agencies)
