A-Lin to sing pop
     2015-June-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Aboriginal Taiwanese pop singer and composer A-Lin will give a solo concert Sept. 19 at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center.

A-Lin was extremely popular as a student and the confidence she gained from this led to her decision to compete in the Singing Strength Elite Rivalry Competition. She chose a pop song originally sung by Sandy Lam, and the competition led A-Lin to believe she had a future as a professional singer.

While A-Lin considers herself a contralto, she has an extremely broad vocal range. In many of her songs, she has been known to cover notes over two octaves.

A-Lin has been called the next A-Mei, who is also an aboriginal Taiwanese singer. A-Lin has often said that A-Mei was highly influential on her music, and she often covers A-Mei’s songs in music shows and concerts. A-Lin has won numerous music awards and is extremely popular in the Mandarin-speaking world.

    Time: 9:30 p.m., Sept. 19
