THE film “Jurassic World” has surpassed all expectations with a massive US$511 million worldwide debut, making it the biggest global debut of all time.

    It also marks the first time a film has grossed more than US$500 million in a single weekend.

    At the North American box office, “Jurassic World” is the second-biggest debut in history with US$204 million losing out to “Avengers: Age of Ultron” by just under US$3 million.

    The film’s global takings were boosted by a US$100 million opening in China.

    “Jurassic World” is No. 1 in all 67 markets it debuted and is yet to open in Japan.
