Tie-in sale
     2015-June-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Tie作名词是“领带;平局”,sale是“促销”。Tie-in sale是什么意思呢?请看对话:

A: Let’s have some fun this weekend.

B: I’m very busy working on the sales plan. Perhaps next weekend. Any ideas for boosting our sales?

A: How about a tie-in sale with the movie theater that’s next door?

B: You have taken the words right out of my mouth!

Note: A tie-in sale is a marketing arrangement in which a supplier of a good or service sells it on the basis that the buyer also buys a certain amount of another product. It’s also called tie in arrangement. In the example above, the likely proposal is to reach an agreement with the theater that customers spending a certain sum in the restaurant can have a discounted or free movie ticket, whose cost is covered by the restaurant.
