THE drama “12 Citizens” took home a total of five awards at the China Movie Channel Media Awards at this year’s Shanghai International Film Festival.

    The awards included best film, best director and best screenplay.

    Actor He Bing took home the best actor award for his role in the film.

    “‘12 Citizens’ has 12 actors working together. Today, Han Tongsheng and I are here to receive the awards. But 10 other actors are scattered around the world, striving for their livelihoods and dreams. Han and I are here on behalf of you [them] to receive a collective acting award,” He said.

    The film itself details the lives of 12 people who are asked to discuss a murder case like a jury in a virtual court at a college.

    Other winners from the China Movie Channel Media Awards included Yang Zishan for best actress in the film “Miss Granny.”(SD-Agencies)
