Jane Zhang goes public with Feng ke
     2015-July-6  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MANDOPOP superstar Jane Zhang made public her 12-year relationship as she staged a concert in Changsha on Saturday.

As thousands of excited fans waved glow sticks after Zhang performed the song “Zhong Yu Deng Dao Ni,” she made an announcement. The song, whose title means “You Are Finally Here,” was the theme song of the popular Chinese TV series “Let’s Get Married” (2013).

“From the year I was 18, a man has kept my company and protected me. Now, 12 years have passed, and I don’t want to live alone any longer. I have thought it over. If you want to marry me, please come onstage,” Zhang made the confession.

The man who appeared onstage was confirmed to be the CEO of Show City Times Feng Ke, who was the singer’s agent when she first landed in show biz. The two reportedly first met in 2004 when Feng often showed up at the bar where Zhang had regular gigs. Feng, 15 years Zhang’s senior, has a son from a previous marriage.

After coming onstage, Feng said he should be the one to initiate the move and thanked the fans before kissing his longtime girlfriend in the limelight. “Thank you all. We are very good and happy together,” he said.

Zhang, born in 1984, rose to fame after coming in third in the first season of China’s TV singing contest “Super Girl” in 2005.

She is known for her signature whistle register, which earned her the nickname, “The Dolphin Princess.”
