US SPACECRAFT WHIZZES PAST PLUTO IN HISTORIC FLYBY
     2015-July-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

NASA Principal Investigator for New Horizons mission Alan Stern (L) holds up an enlarged, out-dated U.S. postage stamp with the words “PLUTO NOT YET EXPLORED” during the celebration of the spacecraft New Horizons flyby of Pluto, at NASA’s Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland, the United States, on Tuesday. The spacecraft whizzed by Pluto on Tuesday, making its closest approach in the climax of a decade-long journey to explore the dwarf planet for the first time. The flyby will allow New Horizons to photograph and collect data in the coming months. (Story on P6)SD-Agencies
