Christina Hendricks to star in ‘Hap and Leonard’
     2015-July-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHRISTINA HENDRICKS has found her follow-up role after “Mad Men.”

The Emmy nominee has joined the cast of the Sundance TV drama “Hap and Leonard,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on the book series by Joe Lansdale, the six-episode series centers on a pair of best friends and martial arts experts Hap Collins (James Purefoy) and Leonard Pine (Michael Kenneth Williams) who struggle through misadventure in a bid to stay on the right side of the law in 1980 East Texas.

Hendricks will star as Hap’s ex-wife Trudy, who resurfaces after two years with a proposition that he can’t refuse. Equal parts funny and shocking, the drama offers a side-eyed look into race, class and friendship.

For Hendricks, the role marks her follow-up to AMC’s “Mad Men” — which garnered her five supporting actress Emmy nominations for her role as Joan Harris. The casting also keeps her in the AMC family as Sundance TV is owned by corporate parent AMC Networks and overseen by AMC president Charlie Collier, who has a longstanding relationship with the actress.

Hendricks’ recent credits include Comedy Central’s spoof “Another Period.” The casting comes after Hendricks exited Showtime’s Cameron Crowe pilot “Roadies,” which will recast the part.(SD-Agencies)
