    Jun Ji-hyun pregnant

SOUTH KOREAN actress Jun Ji-hyun is expecting her first child. The 33-year-old star’s pregnancy was confirmed by her management company through her official website. The announcement states, “Jun is 10 weeks into her pregnancy. She recently found out about it and is very happy.” The actress, who married banker Choi Jun-hyuk in 2012, started her career in 1997 as a model and became hugely popular after the box office hit “My Sassy Girl” in 2001.

    Show’s authenticity

A CHINESE netizen posted two photos of Na Ying, one of four coaches on the popular TV hit “The Voice of China,” on Saturday evening that call into question the “truth” of the reality show. Na appeared in straight hair and in curls in the two photos, which were stills from her appearance during the short time a contestant performed. “I heard the program is edited a lot, with winners chosen by the organizers. ... Na Ying’s quick hair change bewilders me,” the netizen said. The post gathered lots of followers, triggering a comment from Wang Sicong, a high-profile rich kid, who said, “Reality shows are in fact shows where people act according to scripts.”

    Big box office

CHINA-MADE animated feature “Monkey King: The Hero Is Back” has reached a box office figure of 620 million yuan (US$99.8m), becoming the highest grossing animated film in Chinese cinemas. The previous titleholder was “Kung Fu Panda 2.” “Monkey King,” an animated adaption of the classic “A Journey to the West,” opened in cinemas July 10.
