China to blacklist tourist agencies
     2015-July-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) will introduce new measures, including a blacklist of tourist companies, to maintain market order, Beijing Times reported Thursday.

A notice issued by the administration said information about improper tourism service providers must be collected and made public within five working days. The provider would also be placed on a blacklist list via a designated tourism integrity website for two years.

China recently created a “blacklist” of tourists who behave badly when traveling domestically or overseas. Those on the list will have their names passed on to police, customs officials and even banks.

Wang Yanyong, a professor of tourism at Beijing Jiaotong University, said the new policy would create a blacklist of travel companies and is expected to bring the tourism market under control.

The CNTA will also launch an online system to allow tourism officials or the public to directly report on unruly tourists and check information of blacklisted individuals.(China News Service)
