小白兔

    xiǎobáitù

    Meaning: The term, translated as "little white rabbit," is used by Chinese netizens to refer to those who are simple, naive, young, cute, modest and do not have a strong opinion. It's mostly used on women but sometimes can be used on men as well. This term is similar to another we taught before -- "傻白甜," which can be literally translated as "silly, white and sweet."

    A: 听说你叔叔又找了个女朋友？

    Tīngshuō nǐ shūshū yòu zhǎo le gè nǚpéngyǒu?

    I've heard that your uncle has a new girlfriend.

    B: 是啊，他的新女友比他小二十岁，还在上大学。

    Shì a, tā de xīn nǚyǒu bǐ tā xiǎo èrshí suì, háizài shàng dàxué。

    True, the girl is 20 years his junior, a college student.

    A: 他们没有代沟吗？

    Tāmen méiyǒu dàigōu ma?

    Isn't there a generation gap between them?

    B: 我叔叔平时很忙很累，所以喜欢安静老实的小白兔。

    Wǒ shūshū píngshí hěnmáng hěnlèi, suǒyǐ xǐhuān ānjìng lǎoshí de xiǎobáitù。

    My uncle is often busy and tired, and so he prefers a quiet and simple "little white rabbit."
