然而并没有什么用
rán'ér bìng méiyǒu shénme yòng
Meaning: Translated as "but this does not work," this short sentence is a catch phrase among Chinese citizens. It was first used by some game players on BBS discussing the strategy of playing a certain game. Then, borrowed by online talk show "Bao Zou Big News Events," this sentence quickly became popular. It simply means "of no use." A shorter form using "然并" plus another character often used in abusive language is more popular than the original longer sentence.
Example

Rán'ér bìng méiyǒu shénme yòng。Xiǎolì shì bàijīnnǚ, nǐ yào dǎdòng tā zuìhǎo háishì xiān xiǎng fǎzi biànchéng tǔháo。
This is of use, anyway. Xiaoli is a material girl. The best way to impress her is to turn yourself into a millionaire.
