Chinese pianist and composer Xue Tingzhe will present a night of classical music at the Shenzhen Concert Hall this week. The program will mostly be pieces composed by Xue, as well as some compositions by Bach, Mozart and Piazzolla.
In 2006, Xue obtained the first prize in the youth group of the Third Isidor Bajic International Piano Competition in Serbia and then went on 12 concert tours commemorating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Mozart at the invitation of CEI Youth Orchestra. In the same year, he once again won the top prize at the 11th Missouri Southern International Piano Competition in the United States. In 2007, he achieved the top spot at the Chinese qualification trials for the 7th International Paderewski Piano Competition held in Poland.
In 2010, he signed with Universal Music China and released his first piano performance album “The Magic Finger,” which was met with resounding success in China and became a platinum record. The album was honored as best piano performance album of the year.
In 2011, he released his first album of original neo-classical music entitled “Silent Music” and took charge of everything ranging from composition and arrangement to piano performances for the whole album. The album was rated as the best classical music album of the year by the China Musicians’ Association.
