    ‘Ferrari’

    MICHAEL MANN’S long-in-the-works “Ferrari” project may be getting back on the track. Christian Bale is attached to star in the drama, which is being packaged in the hopes of being shopped to buyers and financiers during the Toronto Film Festival and other markets.

    The project adapts the 1991 book “Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine” written by Brock Yates, which details the rise of the auto mogul.

    Big earners

    AWARD-WINNING actress Jennifer Lawrence, made famous by “The Hunger Games” franchise, earned US$52 million in pre-tax earnings over the last 12 months and topped Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid actresses of 2015.

    First-runner up Scarlett Johansson earned US$35.5 million. China’s Fan Bingbing, at fourth spot with a US$21 million paycheck, is the only non-American who made it on the list.

    Agent firm

    WANG SICONG, son of Dalian Wanda Group chairman Wang Jianlin, richest Chinese, has signed South Korea girl group T-ara.

    He is hoping to cash in on the show biz boom in China by establishing an agent firm called Xiang Jiao Ji Hua, or Banana Plan in English.

    Golden Rooster

    THE 30th Golden Rooster Awards announced a list of nominees Wednesday.

    “The Taking of Tiger Mountain 3D “ directed by Hark Tsui leads with nine nominations, followed by “The Golden Era,” which has seven.

    Andy Lau, Zhang Hanyu and Chen Jianbin are nominated for best actor. Vicki Zhao, Tang Wei and Xu Fan are nominated for best actress. Box office hit “Monkey King: Hero Is Back” is nominated for best animation film.
