U.S. record label Wondaland unveiled the collective’s first EP named “Wondaland Presents: The Eephus,” with the Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monae, 29, taking the lead.
Monae said it was a wonderful experience to collaborate with her Wondaland records artists.
“We have fun, I mean, we’re family, you know. The one thing if I had to like do a comparison, it’s kinda like the solar system and how there are different planets. Each artist each act represents a different planet. They’re visionaries, unique and when we are all together it just feels like a complete solar system and we are working — it’s effortless. It just feels like it is supposed to be this way.”
Her single “Yoga” is included in the EP.
The album also includes music such as Jidenna’s summer hit “Classic Man,” which has triggered controversy over how the public perceive African-Americans based on their sartorial choices.
