THE Lakers are considering adding Metta World Peace to their roster. The veteran small forward played for the team for four seasons, from 2009 to 2013, and he helped bring the 2010 NBA championship to Los Angeles, Yahoo Sports reported Monday.
No deal has been agreed upon, but there have been talks between the Lakers and World Peace’s representatives.
There are varying degrees of interest within the Lakers organization about bringing him back to the franchise at 35 years old, although the idea has been met with enthusiasm from Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
The player formerly known as Ron Artest hasn’t played in the NBA since February 2014, when a stint with the Knicks, in which he was used sparingly, ended. World Peace has career averages of 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals.(SD-Agencies)
