股市伤情假
     2015-August-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Meaning:

“股市” means “stock market,” “伤情” refers to “injuries” and “假” means “day off.” White-collar workers in Nanjing are sharing a notice on their WeChat Moment that says, “Employees who suffered more than 30 percent loss in the stock market recently can have one day off and a 500-yuan subsidy in accordance with the charitable spirit of our magazine.” The employer, a real estate industry magazine in Nanjing, named the one-day leave allowed to workers “股市伤情假,” which promptly became a buzzword online.

    Example:

    A: 今天央行双降,你的股票怎么样了?

Jīntiān yāngháng shuāngjiàng, nǐ de gǔpiào zěnmeyàng le?

Now that the central bank cut interest rates and lowered the amount of bank reserves again, how are your stocks doing today?

    B: 还是跌啊。我也盼着老板发点补贴再给个股市伤情假。

Háishì diē a。Wǒ yě pànzhe lǎobǎn fā diǎn bǔtiē zài gěi gè gǔshì shāngqíng jià。

They posted losses again. I too hope the boss will give me some kind of subsidy and a day off for my stock market injuries.
