HONG KONG actor-producer Chapman To will make his directorial debut with “Let’s Eat!,” a food-themed comedy that will be filmed in both Malaysia and Singapore, announced the film’s production team Tuesday.
Apart from helming the US$1.8 million film, To will play Dai Hung, the head chef of the once-reputable Ah Yong Cafe in the comedy. He and the owner’s daughter Rosemary (Aimee Chan) are forced to set aside their differences as they embark on a quest to save the restaurant.
“Let’s Eat!” will be one of Chan’s first projects since she gave birth to her second son in February. The film will also feature Singapore’s Patricia Mok, Malaysia’s Tommy Kuan, Hong Kong hip-hop duo FAMA’s C-Kwan and veteran actor Lo Hoi-pang along with a number of regional stars in supporting as well as cameo roles.
Filming for the comedy is scheduled to begin in September. “Let’s Eat!” is expected to hit cinema screens in the first quarter of 2016.(SD-Agencies)
