Bon Jovi’s first gigs in China canceled
     2015-September-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

BON JOVI’S concerts in Beijing and Shanghai have been canceled, according to the BBC. No reason was given by the organizers for the cancelations, but overseas media reports suggest it was due to “political reasons.”

The Chinese online ticket seller for the concert, Damai.cn, confirmed on Weibo on Monday that ticket selling had been halted, but “they are still waiting for a final decision, and will notify their clients as soon as possible.”

Bon Jovi had been due to play Shanghai and Beijing next week.

The Financial Times said concert organizer AEG was trying to convince officials to relent, but they felt the chances were slim.

Maroon 5, another American band, had shows in China canceled recently as well. The band, whose hits include “Moves Like Jagger” and “She Will Be Loved,” was due to perform in China this month.
