Prison converted to offers guests a stay behind bars
     2015-September-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A U.S. bed and breakfast is giving visitors the chance to spend a night in the slammer.

The Old Vermillion Jailhouse Bed and Breakfast in Ohio is a converted four-cell jail — and it comes complete with bars.

Since it opened in 2013, the jail has welcomed hundreds of guests for its unique experience, marketed as the only jail in the world that can be rented privately.

Located in Vermillion, Ohio — around 45 minutes from Cleveland — the quirky B&B can hold up to four people per night.

The privately owned inn can be found in the town’s historic harbor district. Built in 1910, in its first guise the property was a library and then was converted into the town’s jailhouse.

It has recreated with interior details fashioned in the style of a “mythical dream castle based in an ancient European-style.”

The B&B is described on its website as “perfect for a romantic evening, family vacation, girls or guys night out.”

Groups can privately hire the inn and spend the night in one of three jail cells including a shower and a master suite.(SD-Agencies)
