THE production of “McLaren,” a feature-length documentary on the late Formula One racing champion Bruce McLaren has begun.
The project is directed by New Zealand director Roger Donaldson.
The New Zealand Film Commission is co-funding the documentary, which chronicles the Kiwi’s rise from his humble beginnings to global success.
McLaren won the 1959 U.S. Grand Prix and later founded Bruce McLaren Motor Racing Ltd., which remains in the Formula One championship as McLaren.
He died in 1970, aged 32, when his Can-Am car crashed during a race in England.
