DJ files lawsuit against Taylor Swift
     2015-September-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A FORMER Denver radio host has filed a lawsuit against pop star Taylor Swift, saying he lost his job after he was accused of inappropriately touching the singer during a photo session.

David Mueller filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Denver, reported by media Monday.

The lawsuit alleged Mueller was falsely accused by one of Swift’s security team of grabbing the singer’s buttocks backstage at the Pepsi Center on June 2, 2013.

The Denver Post reported Mueller was backstage for a meet-and-greet with Swift. According to the lawsuit, Mueller and his girlfriend Shannon Melcher posed with the singer.

After small talk, “Swift suddenly announced it was picture time” and “quickly put her arm” around Melcher while Mueller jumped in “at the last second,” according to The Post.

Swift then thanked the couple and they left.

Later, inside the arena, a member of Swift’s security team accused Mueller of touching Swift inappropriately. The Denver Post, citing the lawsuit, reported security members verbally abused the couple and then escorted them out the building.

Mueller was fired two days later from his job at KYGO radio, the lawsuit said.

It also said Mueller denies any inappropriate contact with Swift and noted that he had met many other celebrities — such as Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Heidi Klum — without any incidents.

The newspaper reported Mueller had worked in radio for more than 20 years and made a base salary of US$150,000 before he was terminated.

A statement from Swift’s publicist Saturday said Mueller’s employer was given evidence after the incident and made its own decision on his job status.
